new road bridge

The introduction of a secondary road bridge would help facilitate the development of the Central Waterfront by redirecting the majority of traffic towards the existing Dundee ring road infrastructure. This would aid with reducing traffic, noise, and vehicle movement in the entirety of the City Centre area and better connect with other primary routes around Dundee. This would free the central waterfront to become an active pedestrian destination.
new road bridge

The new road bridge would connect to the outer ring road eliminating the need for travellers to go through the city centre if that isn't their final destination. By doing this the amount of traffic along the waterfront would be decreased allowing for the pedestrianisation of many of these multi-lane roads; freeing up a large amount of space. The existing bridge would be repurposed - split in half for both public transport services and pedestrians/cyclists.
